O registraciji se že "predolgo" pogovarjamo, čeprav se s fake spotterji borbamo v ozadju na dnevni ravni.
Spodaj odgovor avtorja "market leader" DXSpider programa Dirka, G1TLH.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment expressed by ON5UR, I take issue with (and frankly resent) the implication that the developers which (of those that are still alive and/or are active) would be me G1TLH and Lee VE7CC, that we are somehow to blame for the fact that sysops choose not to enable user registration (available since 2001) and passwords (available since 1998). We could do without all this implied criticism which suggests that we are not doing anything to prevent this stuff.
As the “market leader” (God help me) with more DXSpider nodes than all the other nodes put together, at least three times over, it falls mainly to me to try to combat all the stupidity that has recently been seen whilst, at the same time, allowing free and easy access to the cluster network. As a result, since CQWW/SSB last year, I have been putting together a number of measures to combat just two or three regular (and prolific) miscreants (so far about two man months of work).
What I need is for sysops of ALL DXSpider nodes to upgrade to the latest ‘mojo’ release. If this is too difficult for you, I will help. Just ask. Also, please keep the software up to date. Until this happens or these idiots are dealt with by some “authority”, nothing will improve other through more programmer efforts and other concerned Amateurs bringing issues to our notice.
As a user, the way to keep most of this rubbish out of your feed is to only connect to nodes that have up to date software and, if you see something that is unacceptable then report it either by email or just ‘SP G1TLH’ on your console. Registration helps, but is not a panacea. Also most users use “logging” or “contest” programs that also have to implement passwords – not all of them do – none of them have any concept of 2FA. Getting that implemented across the piece will be a challenge. And I’m not certain that every sysop will want to deal with any consequences from officialdom when some complaints about “my 2FA key has been stolen” happen..
This is an “arms race” which will, if it continues at the current pace, cause the cluster to fracture into (at least) two pieces. A “secure” one and a “free for all”. It is unlikely that these pieces of cluster will be sharing anything – and that especially includes spots – so please, be careful what you wish for.
And, if you are one of these miscreants, please stop.
Dirk, G1TLH
